Cadbury Hill Local Nature Reserve, Nr Yatton

This 15 hectare site is jointly owned by North Somerset Council and by Yatton and Congresbury Parish Councils. The site consists of grassy areas including the site of the former Henley Quarry which has been restored, lowland meadow fields, an orchid slope and Cadbury Hill itself which is the site of an Iron Age hill fort, (a Scheduled Ancient Monument), largely covered by broad leaved woodland. The top of the Hill is largely free of trees and supports limestone grassland, home to a variety of butterflies and invertebrates while bats and owls may be seen foraging across the site at dusk.

A Steering Group oversees the management of this site.

Access:
The site can be approached via Henley Lane, which is a turning off the B3133, south of Yatton. There is a small car-park at the entrance to the site.

There is a bridleway from the car-park to the Wood Lane – Dark Lane entrance on the east side.

There are two main Public Rights of Way and several other informal paths across the site.
