This 39.6 hectare site, owned by Winford Parish Council, lies next to the village of Felton in North Somerset with Bristol Airport located just to the west.
The Common has a mosaic of habitats from acidic and calcareous grassland to scrub and bracken which support a wide variety of plants, invertebrates and birds. There is also a mixture of agricultural and recreational uses and the site is popular with walkers and horse-riders.
The Common is managed by a Management Committee supported by a Countryside Stewardship Agreement.
Access: There are five access points to the main part of the common as follows
• To the north-west, to West Lane near St Katherines Church
• To the north-east, Felton Street
• To the east, Hey Lane (bridleway) to Old Hill
• To the south-east, Kingdown Lane (bridleway)
• To the south-west, to Long Lane and Old Barn Lane (bridleway).
